The Proper Christian Mindset (Morsel of encouragement)

Though bible says contentment is a great gain; most of us likes to be exceedingly prosperous, in terms of possessions. Some may fret on this revelation, not wanting to disclose their deeply embedded inner desire for material things hypothetically! When Jesus said; “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly” – He is definitely not offering a life of the world’s luxuries; but a life full of hope and accomplishments, which is perfectly aligned with the word of God. And of course, being Lord’s obedient servants, all of our needs are provided in a timely fashion – as it is written in Philippians 4:19, NIV-Bible; “God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus”. I suppose, some are frustrated with their life just for the reason they couldn’t differentiate the terms ‘need’ and ‘want’ ideally. However, managing wisely one’s resources could possibly bring financial freedom and peace of mind – and it is arguably right that money is not evil, but the love and desire for accumulating it (1 Timothy 6:10).

Yet, the word of encouragement surprises the believers when they come to the right knowledge. Though we may feel exhausted oftentimes, the promises of the Lord are at work, as we are chosen and made righteous eventually. The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 4:7-12, NIV-Bible; “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

Therefore, we should not lose heart for any grounds. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our diminutive momentary troubles are achieving us, an eternal glory that far outweighs them all – So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Those who have ears, let them hear, Amen
