Salvation, Grace and Righteousness

It is quite obvious that many Christians are yet to understand the real connection between grace, righteousness and salvation. In fact, there is a wrong concept circulating in a way that living righteously is not necessary, for the process of salvation is done by God’s grace alone. Considering the fact that nobody is righteous by themselves, this view might be acceptable for many because it is fairly easy. Yet the bible and its teachings are evidently pointing the need of living righteously in the words – as it is written in Psalms 119:11; which says; “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you”. In addition, the written words in 1 Corinthians 10:13 left no room, apparently for anyone to excuse themselves with the sins which reciprocally enabled them to say ‘no’ to the unrighteous.

When the bible talks about salvation, it is literally explaining the process of how to save our souls from the eternal fire. As per the bible, through the faith (which is the gift from God to the chosen), believers receive God’s grace to free them up from their past sins – and thus facilitating them to start a new life in Jesus Christ without any guilt. And no one to boast since everything is done by God himself. As a fact, grace is the prerequisite to have the salvation in the end by holding on to the hope and righteousness. Or else, you would have required to keep the mentioned Law of the Old Testament, in order to get the salvation. But God knew it was impossible for anyone to keep the law perfect without Jesus Christ (or, some sort of help from above) since man is a weakling. It is quite easy for anyone to have great faith in Jesus Christ first, and then following the law as a fruit of its spirit, rather than keeping the law first and then has to live imperfectly in the law, with no true hope of salvation where faith has no value. So, if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law, but by the grace.

Conclusion: Salvation is God’s mercy offered to all chosen people by His grace through faith, which is a free gift, to only those who believe in Jesus and thus giving them a chance to start over a new life without the guilt of the past sins. Eternal glory or blessed hope is the reward for those who have been saved by grace, and then stood till the end spotless or righteous for the sake of the Lord. The true meaning of accepting Christ is, understanding and learning his teachings and to live with it obediently. Amen
