It is written in Romans 14:17-19, NKJV; "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another”. The above verses are perfectly formulated for the people of God as they were given the mind of Christ to rejoice with righteousness while sharing and educating one another in the congregation of saints.
It can be noticed that the believers are not denied any form of happiness in this world, but given the full wisdom to see and enjoy everything with much humility and contentment. In a sense, the Bible is suggesting not to worry about the provisions to live in this world, but to focus alone the Lord since everything needed is supplied naturally – as it is written in Philippians 4:19, “God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
When the bible said, “Seek his kingdom and righteousness” – it is obviously the complete knowledge of the word of God spiced with the recommended faith of the believer – to live holy and pleasing to God – which is the perfect sacrifice and worship. Though this message is preached all over the world, many are yet to be found in the circle of the Lord’s love, as they rebel against the Lord with their innovative doctrines that paralleled with the craftiness of the adversary devil.
Therefore, understand that the kingdom of God is not essentially living prosperously rich, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Many new generation churches have got this wrong as they recognize that envious prosperity of this world as a rightful blessing. Perhaps, they need to learn still the definition of real prosperity in terms of the Bible teachings. Amen
