It is written in the Bible in Ephesians 4:17-24; “So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
For believers apparently, learning Christ is the wisdom to live in this world obediently righteous. Though various Christian teachings negate the need of being holy, the design of the divine mandate in terms of holiness and righteousness stands same forever. It is not that someone is transformed through their given abilities; instead, it is the call of the Lord to the chosen. In other words, those instructions mentioned in the bible on Christian living are more like a declaration rather than a directive to follow. And this concept goes well with the written verse that says “no one come to me unless my father in heaven draws them near”. Therefore, it is a revelation for each and everyone who stands in front of that holy grace, with a submissive heart – to realize that they were made humble and holy, to accept Him unconditionally. The bible says in John 15:16; “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last”. Amen
