Mountains aren’t moving!

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew17:20, NIV-Bible)

Sometimes our faith becomes stagnant to the level nothing will work as promised in the bible. And then we grow slowly cold while the bible names it ‘lukewarm faith or belief’. Now, the question is – why the mountains aren’t moving? We all know that mountains cannot be moved, but our little problems in life could. The bible is figuratively suggesting the faithful Christians to act upon their given faith with appropriate actions – which is the obedience to the word of God. It is imperative to understand that ‘faith-actions’ mentioned in the bible is nothing but living truly in the word of God. Those who are not bringing their faith to that extent with obedience cannot possibly move any mountains in their lives, I suppose!

The bible is full of positive suggestions that believers could follow and attain their rightful goals in terms of God’s righteousness. In fact, those suggestions are life savers if followed meticulously. But the majority ignores them as they cling towards the customary ways of worshipping and praising. Mind you, the vocal worshipping and praising is not necessarily suitable when is not accompanied with the obedience to the word of God. And to the contrary, the bible says, the knowledge is already given to those who are chosen – which is in reality cancels the believed-theory of ‘choice’ among the faithful.

More to the point, the majority might say they “believe” in Jesus Christ and at the same time was unable to live as recommended in the bible. Why the so-called Christian believers fail to demonstrate the said faith and transformation after they have claimed Jesus Christ in their lives? I guess, there is nothing much to argue on this subject expect to go back and start over from the beginning. If someone truly believes in the Lord, as the bible said, the rivers of living water flow from them – as it is written in John 7:38; “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them”.

In this new generation, many figured out the faith and belief in Christianity is a different level of thinking or an opinion. But in fact, it is the action that emerges from the conviction of our hearts in Jesus Christ. To believe in Jesus Christ is not just agreeing that He is the Lord; instead, it’s the total surrendering of our entire being – which is our soul, body and spirit. To be precise, the way of Christian life should be accepting Him as entirely as He is. It is written in John 14:6, NIV-Bible; “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Therefore, remember that believing in Jesus Christ is not merely saying “I believe”, but to carrying out His teachings in our lives with action. And every promise in the bible then will come to pass in our lives – as you’re able to move any mountains at your command. The word of God says in Mark 9:23; “Everything is possible for the one who believes.” Amen
