God chooses the lowly people of this world

Quite intriguing when bible consistently narrates the importance of being humble and lowly; often persuading the believers to be self-contained in almost everything they indulge perhaps! This concept of lowliness can be even observed in the choice patterns of Jesus Christ while selecting His disciples. Besides, many correlated verses on humility in the bible are fairly noticeable in this regard. Ever wondered why God has to promote lowliness together with the humbleness? It is more like offering a lowly place in the beginning, and then to be promoted high with divine conditions, I suppose. Yet, everything should fall in the perimeter of God’s chosen theory!

In fact, the state of humbleness and humility in human nature practically supports the awesome powers of the Lord – a need of submission and obedience towards supremacy. Moreover, these qualities of lowliness are inevitable for the mankind to live righteous, while the arrogance and selfishness are seldom considered appropriate in this world. The word of God says in 1 Corinthians 1:27-29; “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not —to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him”.

Certainly, a great revelation, if we ever consider ourselves as humble and lowly in the eyes of the world – an ideal ground for the Lord to lift us up to a soaring height, with accomplishments and fullness in life. It is written in Matthew 23:12; “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted”. It is wisdom, to be in the presence of God, by opting out as lowly for a time, and to be promoted in the fullness of His time. Jesus Christ was exalted high: being born in a manger, leading a simple life of righteousness, being both man and God – a perfect example of lowliness and humbleness. Amen
