It is written in Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV); “God exalted Jesus Christ to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at His name every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. I suppose, this is a great irrevocable declaration of the bible on the person of Jesus Christ along with His dominion on everything! The term used ‘under the earth’ is nothing but the Hades presumably while the bible reveals the authority of Christ over Satan and his demons often.
Apparently, the above verses are very significant to all believers, as it is the first step of their salvation. To be precise, if we are declaring that Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior, we are confirming indirectly the great responsibility of obedience to Him – and thus revealing our qualities of true faith and righteousness. Since the Bible declares that Jesus has overcome the world as well as the Hades, those who believe in him shall raise up from all troubles mentally and physically day after day.
Why every knee would bow over the name of Jesus Christ? – A thoughtful question of a bystander out of the faith! It is appropriate to know that the Bible-God is not for everyone, but for those who believe or made to believe. As a reminder, the unbelief is not a newfangled thing as it undeniably recorded elsewhere in the bible. In a sense, belief is the key to everything that's mentioned in the scriptures. It is only through the incarnated body of Jesus Christ, the believers are made known to the divinity of God and His reconciliation ministry, which I say with clarity. And certainly, every knee shall bow on this name ‘Jesus Christ’!
The acceptance of Jesus Christ as the son of God is the only answer to the believers, in terms of their hope of salvation. In other words, receiving Jesus Christ transforms the believers as they are made righteous through and through. The word of God says in Galatians 2:20; “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. As a matter of fact, by giving his only begotten son, God has apparently enabled the chosen people to be more obedient. This concept is evidently written in Philippians 2:13 (NIV); “It is God who works in you, to will and to act, in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
Therefore, every knee shall bow with much humility and submission in front of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the only way for our salvation.
