When one of the Pharisees asked Jesus Christ, which commandment is the greatest of all, He said, “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Truly, this is an overwhelming requirement for the believers in their own limitations as normal human beings – I guess, none of them can live up to this obligation completely except with the help of the Lord!
The Bible says that the divine knowledge is given to those who are destined or chosen in Christ Jesus – and being said that, the needed strength to love and to be loved, is given to those who are called according to His purpose. And how someone can love God, since He is a spirit and not having a body to express the feelings towards? – The scripture testifies that, the spirit which creates and gives life dwells in every visible thing on this earth. In other words, whenever we display kindness, gentleness, appreciation, humility, patience and love towards any of God’s creation on this earth – we see the Lord’s love at work, within or through us. And how is it possible to love your neighbor as yourself? The Bible never says that we have to associate with evil while it demands to love your neighbors as yourself – but be gentle and humble in every situation even though we have to forgive often for their unrighteousness. It is written in 1 Corinthians 13:6-7, NIV-Bible; “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.” Truth to be told, love being the synonym of God – God does not delight in evil, but the righteousness since we are His righteousness in Christ.
Therefore, believe in the bible verses which claim the impossible to be possible. God has created us with the potential to be made into something good. More precisely, God still considers the most evil and sinful person worth saving – just because of the His spoken words “that whoever believes in the Son Jesus shall not perish but have eternal life”. Moreover, the thought-to-be unrighteous Saul, who then turned towards God, and later became the Apostle Paul, is the best and the greatest example, that God draws his chosen people towards Him. Once again, if you are chosen, the love of God will surely chases you and overpowers you – to love more and to be loved. It is not us, but the lord, who works in our midst. Amen
