New heart for the chosen

Living with the remnants of ancestry Israel, we recognize the same spirit of God is still in our midst. It is written in Ezekiel 36:26-27; “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws”. Although these scriptures were delivered during the restoration period of Israel perceptibly in the Old Testament, Lord’s design by placing a clean heart has never been changed yet, even for this present generation.

Though narrated vehemently, the purpose of a new heart is to honor God and to teach His precepts. Flipping the bible, the epistle of Paul to Philippians even encourages the believers to strive for the salvation with much fear and trembling, since God who works in us will definitely cause it by facilitating a pure heart with a renewed spirit (Philippians 2:12-13). It is more appropriate to surrender to that holy divinity than searching for new many revelations in vain while God reciprocate His spirit by giving a clean heart to those who are chosen according to His good purpose and plan.

In addition, it was written beautifully in Psalms 51:10-12; “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit away from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me”. It is imperative to understand that the above verse came out from King David in the Old Testament as a sign of repentance. And surely God will do the same to those who are chosen in this present time, to bring them back to His grace by initiating repentance and forgiveness. Though the selection of people is God’s work exclusively, and if we were given to know the above verses yet, the desire for a clean and new heart is absolutely appropriate. Amen
