Citizens of Heaven

There are moments in life which makes us think why we are on this earth? Though we acknowledge life is too short, hardly we know where we came from, and where we are going. I guess it’s a mystery, since nobody came back so far from the dead to explain. Yet, those who believe God knows what could happen possibly after the death. Besides, the bible gives lots of clues regarding this subject.

When the bible talks about the citizenship of saints, it exactly gives us an idea, from where we are. The bible says in Philippians 3:20-21, NIV-Bible; “Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” So, what are we doing on this earth as believers? If we can answer this question, we will know where we are going!

Hypothetically, the earth must be the training ground to the chosen people since they are transiting here for a short while, for a definite purpose. This makes more sense to the written words in Ephesians 1:4-6; “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves”.

Therefore, believe that the citizenship of the faithful is from the heaven. According to the bible, after the rapture, all faithful will come back to earth along with Jesus Christ during the 1000 year Millennium Kingdom, to rule the earth once again in total control of righteousness – as it is written in Revelation 5:10; “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth”. Amen
