True believers of Christ are unique as they stand-out always from the world and its interactions. Having said that, the true believers are not to be excluded from the rest of the world, as they are dedicated to live righteous by obeying the word of God with much humility and love! It is written in 1 Peter 2:9-10; “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy”.
No one is righteous by birth, but it is the call of the Lord to your spirit. As per the bible, you have received the mercy at the pace of your faith, as you are obliged to pass it on within your limits. You don’t have to be mixed up with the corrupted to display your love and compassion, but to hold on to your patience with humility. The truth is – to show love and compassion, there are no any compelling requirements of being closely associated with the needy or sinners – as your merciful heart and willingness without partiality is much valued instead. There is nothing wrong to give out mercy since we have received it freely as God’s chosen people.
We might fret that there are verses in the Old Testament bible which says that God made a covenant with Israelites not to indulge or associated with the sinners (Exodus 34:10-14), but the New Covenant bible promotes the love without judging anyone since God made his son Jesus Christ, the pioneer and the perfecter of our faith. Though the blueprint of all God’s decrees stands on the inevitable standards of holiness, the Old and New Testament Bibles have nothing to differ from the basic fundamentals of the heavens!
Though there are many arguments that chosen people mentioned in the bible are only Israelites, who can deny the fact about the still missing ten tribes of Israel, which is supposedly scattered and lost in the vast spans of this world. Believe that if you are called by the Lord, there is a valid reason behind. Now, we are called out from the darkness to do the good works of the Lord. Once we were not the people, but now we are the people of God. We were not given mercy, but now we have the mercy from the Lord as you are a believer. We are now a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that we may declare the praises of him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. Amen
