Living in the darkness and the scope of salvation:

The bible is the storehouse of divine knowledge which enables believers to fulfill its written promises. Yet, the promises in the Bible are seemingly a mirage, at least for some, as they will see it as an illusion.

The word of God says in 1 John 1:5-10, NIV-Bible; “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”

The above mentioned verses question the credibility of a believer in terms of his spirituality. While it talks about the unfaithfulness of a sinner, it also promotes the faithfulness of God in forgiving anyone who confesses – to lead a life thereafter by denying the darkness. It is also imperative to understand at this point the factual meaning of the term ‘sin’ in the Christian life – in fact, sin is basically disobeying God’s commands, which he has set before us.

Therefore, be humble enough to accept your real standings on Christian life. Self-righteousness will never take you anywhere except having a position in the man-made churches or any related settings. Someway, God has given us tools to escape the tricks of the enemy, in the form of His own words. Remember always at the top of your head, forgiveness is for the sinners and novices; where the obedience and righteousness is for the saints. And if you’re still asking forgiveness continually, do not categorize yourself in the line of true saints. Besides, salvation is not a phenomenon; it’s a continuous lifestyle in Jesus Christ till the end, with the blessed hope in our hearts (Titus 2:12-13). Amen
